an experienced marketing executive in both New York and Crete ,
as its editor.
In addition to his journalism background, Mr.
Duro:
- currently serves as editor the English-speaking monthly newspaper Crete
Gazette
- has served as an account supervisor for the New York marketing
and public relations division of Grey
Advertising, part of Grey
Worldwide, one of the world's largest and most respected advertising
agencies.
- upon leaving Grey, he started his own successful multi-media
company in New York, the LKD Group,
which included the subsidiaries Creative Encounters Incorporated
and Empire City Marketing. In both positions, his client list
included such companies as Budweiser Beer, Gordon's Gin, The
National Enquire, Gulf & Western,
and Pennsylvania Optical. In the retail market, he represented
the 650 Walden Book Stores and the Austin Drug Store chain.
- after relocating in Crete in 1985, Mr. Duro opened LD
Advertising, which, in addition to providing marketing
and advertising services to many small businesses, it also
published Where , a full-colour marketing brochure.
